Company Background

In 2005, Anita Moss and Paul Norman conceptualised and built First Tutors: I.T. (www.firsttutors.co.uk) as a web-based find-your-own tutor service. They developed the business by investigating what learners were looking for and how they could make the supplementary education sector more efficient for all concerned. Together we created a completely web-based trainer matching service for our customers.

Since then, First Tutors: I.T. has registered several thousand tutors and many more clients and is now looking forward to helping our customers find IT trainers in their local area as well.

Directors

Anita Moss, 27, has a BA (Hons) in History and Social Anthropology from St. John's College, Cambridge University. Prior to co-founding First Tutors: I.T. she worked in product management and marketing for two venture-backed start-ups and also on Whitehall as a Senior Policy Manager. Anita has won and been a finalist for numerous business awards (Young Entrepreneur, Women in Technology, etc).

Paul Norman, 27, has an MSc (Distinction) in Information Systems from The University of Leeds and a first class BSc (Hons) in Physics from The University of Nottingham. Prior to co-founding First Tutors: I.T., Paul was a software developer for new media business start up, a software consultant at Leeds Business School and a freelance web developer. Paul and Anita joined forces to become business partners, and conceptualised and built First Tutors: I.T.. Paul's development work has won First Tutors: I.T. numerous digital industry awards.
